My Fitness Journey
During the pandemic, my weight skyrocketed to more than 250 pounds. When my kid started calling me "Santa Claus," it became a wake-up call at age 49. With gyms closed, I decided to download a Couch to 5K app. At first, I could barely run 100 meters, but I persevered and completed my first 5K race within months.
Running became more than exercise—it brought personal satisfaction, mental resiliency, restored fitness, and spiritual growth. Working with a coach, I progressed to half marathons and then completed the Chicago Marathon in 2023 (4:13).
A year later, I improved my time to 3:48 at the more rigorous Marine Corps Marathon. You can read about my complete fitness journey on the Yeu blog here.
Why Choose Me as Your Coach?
Now happier than I've been in decades, I'm passionate about helping other Masters runners achieve similar transformations. Having coached others throughout my career in various roles, I want to help others experience the same joys. We need to challenge the stereotypes we see online—it's never too late to start and succeed!
